About the PCE
The Personal Consumption Expenditures price index measures the prices of what US households buy, including what is paid on their behalf, such as health care. The Federal Reserve's 2% inflation goal is defined in PCE terms, and core PCE (without food and energy) is the figure it watches most. Published monthly by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
